Kudde - Scheduling & Planning

Our work process consists of 3 main phases:

Phase 1: 16 March 2009-3 April 2009.
Initially there will be a period of 3 weeks in the studio for research and rehearsals. The result of this will be a show be a try-out show of approximately 30 minutes. The heaviness point lies here, examining the topic `identiteit'. We test our performance for the first time for a public. This will allow us to gather feedback and reflect on the work. At this stage the performance is without sound.

Phase 2: 17 April 2009-25 April 2009.
This is the moment that we work with Marnix Ike and he will enter to look at the peice for the first time. He is sound artist in the broad sense of the word. From 17-20 April he will make a sound proposal by working from video recordings of the material. Also he works around the theme of identity of sound. He will double the sound and analyse the sound in several components. In the separate components the original identity is no longer recognisable. As much as possible , sounds which arise from the performance will be the sounds that are worked with. The sound is an echo of the performers and the other way around. They represent each other and analyse the space and the movement. On 21 and 22 April the dancers recover. 23 April is the technical run day in the Muiderpoorttheater and shows are on the 24 and 25 of April. At this point we shall invite programmers and producers for the tour of the show.

Phase 3: 15 June 2009 - 5 July 2009:
A residence at the Mijzen Festival. We will take the performance from the theatre to an old barn in the Mijzen polder. The barn hasa low roof, unequal floor and an abundance of a history. The identity of the show will change by the new context. 1-5 July we will play 3 time per day during the festival.

Phase 4 :7 September-13 September:
3 shows at the Fringefestival in Amsterdam, where we play in the cellar of the former Victoria Hotel.

  1. Dear all,
After 3 weeks of work we experienced that creative processes are not controllable in all ways. We decided that we will need more time to experiment, finetune and play with the theme. I would rather call our performance in the Muiderpoort a pilot then a premier and we also do not invite programmers yet or other official people. But you are of course most welcome to share and talk afterwards,
    Greetings Maaike
